Description

13 JULY - 4 AUGUST 2024
continuous exhibitions & continuous fashion kiosk

14 years of perspectives. For the second time under the direction and curation of Barbara Gölles and Thomas Kasebacher. Last year, the festival was organised under the motto "Exchange and Connection" in order to become visible in the town and strengthen the external impact. This year we are going one step further. 2024 is all about the "bad weather programme". We want good weather and a good life. Globally, we have been experiencing a bleak situation for some time now: war, climate change, economic crisis and social change. The perspectives provide approaches and pose the question: "What does all this have to do with us?"

HERE'S THE PROGRAMME

History:
Styrian Barbara Gölles was born in Bad Radkersburg in 1982, grew up in Fürstenfeld and currently lives in Vienna. After studying fashion at the Vienna University of Applied Arts, Gölles worked for Alexander McQueen in London, among others. She has been designing sustainable swimwear for her own label “Margaret and Hermione” since 2015. She was already represented as a designer at the Perspectives Festival in 2021 and 2022.

Born in Innsbruck in 1974, fellow curator Thomas Kasebacher grew up in Tyrol. After studying in Innsbruck, Liverpool and Stockholm, he chose Vienna as his adopted home. His art moves between performance, installation and research. He is on the board of the Tyrolean Artists’ Association and has taught in Switzerland, Finland, Austria and the USA. Most recently, he presented “RAW” at the Wiener Festwochen and “Object Trouvé” at the Impulse Festival in Düsseldorf.
