Switzerland and Liechtenstein jointly award the “International Prize for Sustainable Building in the Alps”. The Central Association of Austrian Architects will be showcasing outstanding projects in the Hand.Werk.Haus and on the Bad Goisern market square.

13:00 – Opening of the festival and the Forum of Initiatives
With: Artistic Director of the European Capital of Culture Elisabeth Schweeger and Mayor Leo Schilcher
The “Forum of Initiatives” is the centrepiece of the Market of the Future. A place of encounter and exchange on the way to a climate-friendly society.
15:30 – Performance at the “wood passage” (Bad Goisern market square)
With: MULLMULLA (artists’ collective) and pupils from Bad Goisern primary school
In cooperation with: proHolz Austria and the market town of Bad Goisern
MULLMULLA collect found rubbish and process it together with pupils from Bad Goisern primary school into artistic Perchten costumes (in Tyrol: Mulla).
16:00 – Discussion round: “The power of initiatives – strengthening community”
With: Lisa Kolb (Klimavolksbegehren & Zukunftsallianz), Barbara Kern (HAND.WERK.HAUS), Alexandra Mayr (KLAR! Inneres Salzkammergut)
Moderation: Magdalena Stammler (OKH Vöcklabruck, Freies Radio Salzkammergut)Hardly any other region in Austria has so many creative and community-orientated experts, initiatives and experts. The talk focuses on this potential and discusses possible further steps to strengthen this network.

Nick Nuttal was a long-time spokesperson for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and gives a brief and entertaining outlook on the international dimension of climate change.
17:00 – Concert: “Chorus“
With: Bernadette La Hengst and choirs from the region under the direction of Susanna Fabian
The Berlin singer opened the COP23 climate conference in Bonn with a choir of young people. Together with Susanna Fabian and singers from the Salzkammergut region, she is organising the closing of the central day of the Market of the Future.
