Description

Haruko Maeda worked at Kainisch station

Haruko Maeda has found animism for herself in the nature of the Salzkammergut.
The nature, the greenery and the water here in Kainisch inspire me in my artistic work.
In the streams, hills and between bushes, the artist senses something mysterious.
It is the same reverence for nature that she feels in the forests and seas of Japan.
Haruko  Maeda will be painting on “Kappa” during her residency.
Kappa is a Yōkai (jap. 妖怪 are figures of Japanese folk belief) or a nature god and is translated as “river child”.

“I feel that there is a Kappa lurking in the streams of the Kainish” Haruko Maeda…
