Stories in pictures have always offered unique access to our history. The German comic artist Simon Schwartz is a master at this and brings contemporary history to life at first hand. On behalf of Salzwelten GmbH and the Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024, he has turned the eventful history of the Altaussee salt mine from the Stone Age to the Nazi era into a graphic novel. This can be seen from 22 March 2024 in a freely accessible exhibition in the Steinberghaus. And of course, the graphic novel will also be available in book form.
