Under the direction of its long-standing chief conductor Franz Welser-Möst, the Cleveland Orchestra enjoys the reputation of being the best orchestra in the USA, but perhaps also in the world. To live up to this claim, the ensemble tours extensively year after year in the world’s most important concert halls. The artistic essence of these talented musicians can now also be experienced in Gmunden with masterpieces of chamber music. The word “chamber” in this case does not refer to a smaller concert hall, but to a room within a house, and the composers also conceived these works for domestic music-making.
Thus, this concert also sends a musical greeting from Cleveland to the concert series Hausmusik Roas conceived by Franz Welser-Möst, extends this journey by one stop and invites you to linger over masterpieces of “classical house music”.
