Selma Selman’s performance ‘Letters to Omer’ will take place on Sunday, 27/10/24 at 15:30 in the stables of the Kaiservilla.
Letters to Omer (2021) is a performance in which Selma Selman weaves thoughts and visions of a better world with autobiographical fragments and political discord into a sound tapestry, which is second to none. Themes such as justice, whiteness and patriarchy can be found in it, as well as political equality and the constant search and longing for a self-determined reality.
Selma in turn acts here as a mouthpiece and medium to give these themes space.
The lyrical performance ‘Letters to Omer’ can be seen at the same time as the finissage and conclusion of this successful exhibition by the artist in the stables of the Kaiservilla.
Directly after ‘Letters to Omer’ by Selma Selman’ in the Kaiserstallungen, you have the opportunity to attend the event ‘Performance for a Coloured House’ by Doris Uhllich at 16:30 at the Marmorschlössl (an associated project of the Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024).
We look forward to seeing you there!
