Johannes Tonio Kreusch, “one of the most creative classical guitarists of the present day” (Akustik Gitarre), has formed a successful chamber music duo with violinist Doris Orsan for many years.
Described by the Süddeutsche Zeitung as “classical innovators” and by Akustik Gitarre magazine as a “musical dream couple”, the two musicians will present excerpts from their current CD programs “Tangos & Canciones” and “Libertango”. The concert will feature famous tango classics such as “La Cumparsita” and “El Choclo” as well as new tango music dedicated to the duo by Argentinian composer Máximo Diego Pujol, masterpieces by tango revolutionary Astor Piazzolla and Spanish music by Enrique Granados.
The magazine Fono Forum calls their CD “Tangos & Canciones” “beguiling” and the specialist magazine Folker writes: “The way the duo Kreusch/Orsan put the tango on the dance floor is captivating. Yes, it tingles, crackles and sparkles with so much passion that you want to shout, eager to dance and eager to travel: “Buenos Aires, here I come!”
