Setting up the charcoal piles: 5 and 6 June during the day
Lighting of the pile: 6 June at dusk
Lectures and discussion: 8 June, 6.30 pm
The centuries-old tradition of charcoal burning in Bad Mitterndorf is the starting point of the project. A charcoal pile is erected on the site where a chalet village should have been built. A chalet-like façade is integrated into the pile and burnt down. During the action week, there will be lectures and discussions in cooperation with the EIKE Kulturforum; charcoal will be distributed free of charge. The artists envision the process of building, operating and distributing the charcoal as a social process. This takes up local aesthetics and incorporates elements of recent development in order to reflect on the interventions in the landscape.
