Under the title “ABBRUCH – UMBRUCH – AUFBRUCH”, members of the Kunstforum Salzkammergut are exploring the impending change. This can relate to the artistic form of expression, for example in the field of sculpture and object art, or to the content of a work. From installations, photographs and paintings to interpretations of the imminent reorganisation – the diversity of the exhibition reflects the complexity of the topic.
Lydia Wassner-Hauser and Silvia Radner, for example, give visual form to the cycles of life, the ever-changing discovery of human existence. For Ulrike Wintersteiger and Stephan Unterberger, demolition – upheaval – new beginnings is an ongoing cycle, usually in a positive sense but sometimes also in a negative one (destruction, war). For Elisa Treml, there is immense power in the moment of
It requires a willingness to leave something behind and to change.
The exhibition takes place in the architecturally controversial so-called “Hetteger-Anbau” of the Lehár Theatre. “ABBRUCH – UMBRUCH – AUFBRUCH” invites visitors to reconcile themselves with the past, to accept the present change and to welcome the coming new beginnings. It is a tribute to the history of this place and at the same time a look into the future. Or, as Lukas Halder puts it in his artistic statement: A controlled demolition and a well thought-out upheaval result in a positive new beginning.
