The unique nature of the Hallstatt culture forms a core of the Austrian and European identity. This symposium which focuses on one of the most significant prehistoric cultures is intended to shed new light on its development as well as the knowledge that has been obtained and the progress that has been made from the first findings until the present. The focus is placed on a reflection and on an exchange that promotes the understanding and appreciation of the Hallstatt culture and which makes it possible for locals to develop a deeper understanding and a strong connection to their regional history and identity.
