Stefan Zweig maintained intense correspondence with renowned artists and great personalities who spent time in the Salzkammergut region.
Stefan Zweig was already dreaming of a united Europe in the 1920 and 1930s whose strength rested in its artistic and intellectual cultural heritage and had the potential for a peaceful coexistence. He communicated this in many of his writings and speeches. Renowned actors will be engaged for the readings. The events will take place in different communities of the 2024 European Capital of Culture region as well as in the Salzburg part of the Salzkammergut region. This series is being realized in cooperation with the Stefan Zweig Center in Salzburg and the Austrian Society for Literature.
