About the project

Eva Schlegel is one of Austria’s most internationally renowned artists. Her work focuses on exploring concepts of space, immateriality, and the relationship between image and language.

In collaboration with 2MVD Salzkammergut, Eva Schlegel creates AR installations, expanding her exploration of perception and spatial potential, as well as the interaction between material and immaterial, object and human, into a virtual medium. The project, Memories from the Future, reflects on specific locations and their histories, with each place acting as a generator and the visitors becoming active participants in the experience.

At various locations throughout Salzkammergut, animated sculptures by Eva Schlegel and 2MVD are made visible indoors and outdoors via QR codes.

  1. Toplitzsee: This work is about the many secrets that the Toplitzsee holds and reveals by means of virtual narratives. Be it the enigmatic NS treasure or the fabulous animal world. (QR code on the lakeshore, permanently accessible)
  2. Sudhaus: Stories about salt are retold and wrap themselves around the visitors
  3. Bräuwiese – Traunsee: Digital eyes observe and follow the explorers (QR code on the lakeshore, permanently accessible)
  4. Spitzvilla: Digital eyes observe and follow the explorers (QR code on the lakeshore, permanently accessible)
  5. Sky Waterwalk – Ebensee landing site: Into the Deep (from 02/09/24, QR code on the lakeshore, permanently accessible)
