More about the contributor

Theatre im Bahnhof Graz sees itself as a contemporary people’s theatre, its theme is the so-called Austrian identity, by which is meant self-image, images of oneself and others, con- and dissent in current social reality. These require permanent negotiation, which is why the theatre at the station is constantly changing its practices. It improvises
its existence.

The TiB is an alternative institution and runs its own production and event venue in Graz. It operates locally, regionally and internationally. It is also the largest professional free theatre ensemble in Austria that exists permanently. It operates as a collective of highly accentuated, sought-after individual artists. The term ensemble resonance plays a role in all creations. TiB actors are theatre makers. For over 30 years, it has mainly produced its own productions, which are created as a collective.
