studied architecture in Graz, Innsbruck and Vienna, received her doctorate from the Vienna University of Technology in 1995 and habilitated in 2003 with the book Leere Räume. Wohnen und Weiblichkeit in der Moderne (Sonderzahl, 2004). Together with Roland Köb, she runs the architectural firm Köb&Pollak Architektur in Wolfurt and Vienna and works in the fields of urban studies, housing, architectural theory, and gender research.
2009-2020 she was professor of architecture and urban studies, from 2021 she will take over as head of the department raum&designstrategien at the Kunstuniversität Linz.

Köb&Pollak Architektur mainly build social housing in Vienna, including the women’s housing project ro*sa Donaustadt, the housing project BOA in Vienna 22 or currently the project WOA in Vienna’s 2nd district.
