Mentoring as part of the cooperation with the Young Theatre of the Landestheater Linz.
Nele Neitzke studied literature and education and at the same time worked as an assistant director and in various theatre-pedagogical youth projects at the schauspielhannover of the Niedersächsisches Staatstheater. From 2007 she was employed as a theatre pedagogue, drama dramaturge and director at the Theater Ulm. From 2012 to 2016 she worked at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg as head of the Young Theatre and theatre pedagogue.
She was invited to the Hessian Children’s and Youth Theatre Week KUSS in Marburg in 2011 with her first professional directing work, the monologue Jungfrau fast forward after Friedrich Schiller’s Jungfrau von Orleans at the Ulm Theatre. At the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, Nele Neitzke has staged productions including The Marquise of O …., Tschick, Peter Pan, Supergute Tage, as well as Hebbel’s Nibelungen, Goethe’s Faust and Homer’s Odyssey in the series “Young Classics – Short Cuts”. For her Faust adaptation, she was awarded the prize of the 33rd Bavarian Theatre Days in May 2015. Back in December 2014, she was also awarded the special prize of the Theatre and Orchestra Sponsorship Association at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, which thus recognised her extraordinarily successful work as head of the Young Theatre and director. Since the beginning of the 2016/2017 season, Nele Neitzke has been artistic director of the Young Theatre at the Landestheater Linz and has directed various “Young Classics” and modern plays for children and young people in the past seasons. Her net stage versions of Young Classics – Faust Short Cuts and Alice in Wonderland were awarded the special prize for “innovative formats that go beyond the stage” by the Austrian STELLA*21 jury.
Her directorial work Two Doves for Cinderella is nominated as Outstanding Production for Children at the STELLA*22.
