Mirsini Artakianou, born 1987 in Lesbos (GR) is a Greek-German artist. She holds a degree (2006-2012) in Fine Arts and Art Studies from the University of Ioannina in Greece and completed postgraduate studies at Burg Giebichenstein, Kunsthochschule Halle, from 2014 to 2016. She received several grants for artist residencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as (2020) a three-month funded residency in Turkey (Istanbul) as part of a grant from the Goethe-Institut. In 2020 she received the Denkzeit scholarship from the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony and in 2021 the scholarship support of the Cultural Office of the City of Leipzig. In 2021 she was awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation artist grant from ARTWORKS, and in 2022 she received the Neustart grant from the Kunstfonds. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece, Germany, France and other countries. She lives and works in Leipzig.
