Marlene Rutzendorfer, born and raised in Bad Ischl, is an architect and curator of, among others, the Architektur.Film.Sommer at Az W, as well as the traveling architecture film festival movies in wonderland. For her research on the opera village Africa, Burkina Faso, she received a Junior_Fellowship at IFK – International Research Center for Cultural Studies / University of Art and Design Linz in Vienna (2015, 2016) and a Visiting Scholarship at Harvard University, Department of History of Art and Architecture (2016 – 2018). Since 2012 she has been developing formats of architectural mediation and interactive urban research with the architecture platform wonderland. Other projects include participatory design and construction of exhibition architectures, among others “Overlays” at the Festival der Regionen 2015 with students* of the Neue Mittelschule Ebensee, collaboration on stage design (Burgtheater Vienna, Salzburg Festival 2013). 2019 SHIFT-III – cultural mediation project Simmering Works with Karoline Mayer with films, city walks, and discussions on “Work and Production in the Growing City.” Film programming with superwien and Urban Think Tank as part of the Vienna Biennale for Change, Viktor Adler Markt 2021. She is currently developing the Blickpunkte project for the 2024 Capital of Culture.
