Marion Eichmann (*1974) lives and works in Berlin. She studied at the Weißensee School of Art. Her graduation work as a master student, Maschen (2002), a spatial installation made from knitted everyday objects, attracted international attention early on. She was invited to Tokyo by fashion designer Issey Miyake, but preferred to continue developing her own work. This was followed by further residencies in New York and Istanbul. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She has had major exhibitions at the Marburger Kunstverein, Galerie Stihl Waiblingen and Städtische Galerie Offenburg, among others. Her works are in public and private collections, including the Hasso Plattner Foundation and the collection of the German Bundestag. In 2021, she was invited to develop works for the German Bundestag. This resulted in a one-year project in which she explored the spaces and architecture of the Bundestag buildings in her own way. Some of the 110 works that were shown in the lobby of the Reichstag building at the end of the project are on permanent display in the Marie Lüders House of the German Bundestag.
