The name Attwenger comes from an old four-line verse that was played on regional radio and later picked up by Markus Binder and Hans-Peter Falkner. “Die Goas” is the purely acoustic version of the Gstanzl punk duo Attwenger. Drummer Markus Binder and harmonica player Hansi Falkner have collected more than 1000 Upper Austrian Gszanzl since the 1990s. The writer Ernst Jandl said of the Attwenger phenomenon: “This is not only brilliant music, but above all concrete poetry”.
