Chief Curator of Contemporary Art and Director of ALBERTINA MODERN.
Born in Augsburg in 1974, the art historian, curator and cultural publicist Angela Stief was curator at the Kunsthalle Wien from 2002 to 2013. Since 2018 she has been curatorial advisor to Vienna Art Week; in 2020 she has taken on the visiting professorship for curatorial practice at the University of Linz. Since July 2020, she has been chief curator of ALBERTINA MODERN; previously, she was part of the curatorial team of the inaugural exhibition “The Beginning. Art in Austria from 1945 to 1980.” The exhibitions “The 80s” (from 10 October 2021) and subsequently the large Ai Weiwei show from 11 March 2022 are the upcoming projects of ALBERTINA MODERN.
