For the first time in the 39-year history of the European Capital of Culture program, an Alpine space is the Capital of Culture! 23 communities in Upper Austria and Styria form a cultural region and come together to serve as a Capital of Culture.

Following Graz in 2003 and Linz in 2009, the Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut region is the next European Capital of Culture in Austria in 2024!

Under the motto culture is the new salt, high-ranking ambassadors such as Helga Rabl-Stadler, Hubert von Goisern, Xenia Hausner, Johanna Mitterbauer, Tom Neuwirth, Franz Welser-Möst, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Aleida Assmann have all agreed to support the project Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut 2024.

4 programming series, Power and Tradition | Culture in Motion | Sharing Salzkammergut – The Art of Traveling | Globalocal – Building the New, will open the routes into the Salzkammergut region and connection the European Capital of Culture region with Europe and the world.

More than 365 events and 300 international projects offer you the opportunity to put yourself in the spotlight as a partner in one of the sponsor categories and use the 2024 European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut as a platform for your communication.

The Kulturhauptstadt Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut 2024 GmbH has hired the international sponsoring agency PROFS Concepts GmbH to find companies willing to take on sponsoring packages.
