Whether on foot, with snowshoes or on skis, exploring and discovering the mountains has always been the passion of the Wels-born native. With his special training (state-certified hiking and snowshoe guide, state-certified instructor for mountain hiking), he develops and organizes long-distance hikes and trekking tours always happy to accompany mountain enthusiasts on their adventures.
Guenter first studied at the University of Education in Linz to become a teacher for German, history and then information technology. His career stages were as diverse as his education, including an American software company and the Ars Electronica Center. As a leading employee in the Austrian Red Cross, he gained extensive experience in working with other emergency organizations. Guenter played a leading role in estabishing the Upper Austrian crisis intervention team.
He is successfully coaching trainers and working as a lecturer for “emergency management” and the special field “fear on the mountain” at the Naturfreunde Academy. In cooperation with the Museum of Contemporary History in Ebensee and the development and support of partisan hikes, Guenter has come full circle – as he can combine his original training with his experience.
