The Styrian municipal structure reform brought about a merger of the “old” municipalities of Pichl-Kainisch, Tauplitz and Bad Mitterndorf. The municipality has three kindergartens, three elementary schools and a new secondary school. About 230 companies are located in Bad Mitterndorf, with many one-person and micro businesses, some medium-sized companies and also industrial enterprises. Club life is very active with 46 associations. Many famous personalities, among others from sports and culture, originate from Bad Mitterndorf. Ski jumper Wolfgang Loitzl, Hubert Neuper or Conchita Wurst – to name three examples. In addition to many natural jewels and the lived tradition, Bad Mitterndorf is especially known for the ski jump “Kulm”.
