born 1949 in Hard on Lake Constance, lives as a freelance writer in Hohenems/Vorarlberg and Vienna. Numerous publications, very successful as a narrator of ancient and local legends and biblical stories. His work has been honoured many times, including the Rauriser Literature Prize (1983), the Manès Sperber Prize (1995) and the Anton Wildgans Prize (1996). His most recent publications include “Matou” (2021), “Das Philosophenschiff” (2024) and “Wenn ich wir sage” (2019) and “Die Gitarre” in the “Dinge des Lebens” series published by Residenz.
