Austrian Mountain and Small Farmers Association
We are farmers who run their farms organically or conventionally and people from various professional groups who feel connected to farming and are committed to its preservation. Since 1974, we have been a grassroots farmers’ movement and a non-partisan organisation that pursues agricultural policy and educational work. We are part of the worldwide small farmers’ movement “La Via Campesina” with organisations in 73 countries and 200 million members.
The seven-member board of the ÖBV is made up of farmers from various federal states. We are proud that women and men are equally represented on the board. Together with active members from all over Austria, we develop a wide range of projects for a farming future. Our employees support this work and provide additional impetus.
