More about the contributor

In 2017, Hans Ostapenko (born 1982 in Odesa, UKR, lives and works in Dortmund) began his artistic work, which moves between sculpture and drawing, performance and art in public space. He examines the relationship between public, semi-public and private space as well as the emergence of borders, territories and the methods of symbolically overcoming them. The perception of the social, economic, political and legal dimensions within this complex occupy Ostapenko both as a Ukrainian and as an artist.
