(*1976 in Grieskirchen, Upper Austria; lives and works in Vienna and Heiligenberg). Siegfried A. Fruhauf trained as an industrial clerk and then studied experimental visual design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. His first contacts and links to Austrian avant-garde filmmaking emerged at the beginning of his studies. He realises works in the context of the visual arts due to the proximity of experimental film to art. His working method oscillates between art genres and between white cube and black box. He has realised numerous works and exhibitions in the fields of film, video and photography. He has taken part in renowned international film festivals such as: Festival de Cannes, International Film Festival of Venice, Berlinale, Sundance Film Festival Park City and others. Since 2009 he has been teaching experimental film at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. He lives with the author Anna Katharina Laggner and their three children in Vienna and Heiligenberg, Upper Austria.
