The seventh and final farm day in this series takes us to a solidarity vegetable farm in Steinfelden/Pettenbach.
Michaela Jancsy and Reingard Prohaska cultivate 50 different vegetable crops for 85 harvest shares on an area of one hectare of land and three greenhouses right next to the “Green Earth World”. Conserving resources, working in harmony with nature and supplying the region with high-quality, healthy and diverse organic vegetables are top priorities.
On this farm day, we can find out how solidarity farming is run and what goals are pursued. What are the conclusions of two women who have started their own farming business? How can you grow vegetables in times of advancing weather extremes?
Programme
- Get together and introduce yourself
- Get to know the farm and make an organic herb butter
- Depending on the weather, cultivate in the field or in the greenhouse and/or sow and plant together
- Taste seasonal vegetables in the Grüne Erde Bistro. If you’re feeling peckish at lunchtime, you can buy something in the bistro or bring something with you.
