Miguel Sbastida (born 1989 in Madrid) explores the intersection of visual arts and environmental studies to create diverse installations, performances and films. These works convey the urgency of the climate crisis and question human subjectivity within complex ecological networks.
Through a research-based approach inspired by various disciplines such as the natural sciences, humanities, environmental activism and postcolonial studies, Sbastida’s works aim to create spaces for critical reflection on common ideologies of nature. They offer new narratives about belonging, ecology and the reciprocal relationship between earth and humans.
