Simon Gerner grew up in the Innviertel region as a child in a family of musicians and began his musical training at an early age on the piano, organ and trumpet. He was already a member of the brass band, a brass band and a symphony orchestra during his school years. In 2020, Simon Gerner began studying to become a teacher of music and English and is now also studying singing with Kerstin Turnheim at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
The young baritone has already performed as a soloist or ensemble member in various music theatre projects, including the masterclass “Singing in Scene” as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady by Frederick Loewe, as Action in scenes from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, as Demetrius in his own version of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and as a soloist in a staged version of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff (director: André Turnheim). Simon Gerner is also a member of the Salzburg Bach Choir and a soloist in concert and church music.
