Description

After four years away, a dedicated team led by Jakob Rodlauer and Sophie Rastl decided to revive the music workshop in the Woferlstall Bad Mitterndorf. Thanks to the Salzkammergut 2024 Capital of Culture, they found the perfect setting. This year, the focus is not only on Alpine folk music, but also on expanding the repertoire and exploring new styles and genres from all over Europe.

High-calibre speakers have been recruited for the course:
Jakob Rodlauer will introduce the students to his guitar skills and teach modules such as improvisation, rhythm and gypsy jazz. Sophie Rastl will unpack her yodelling repertoire, the violin and the viola. Sebastian Rastl, the experienced double bass player, shows his skills not only as a solo bassist, but also as a creative and playful ensemble leader. Claudia Schwab, who was born in Frohnleiten, has lived in Ireland for over 10 years and will show the speakers fiddle pieces from all over the world. The well-known singer Natasa Mirkovic comes from Bosnia-Herzegovina. She is famous for her sensitive voice and her talent for leading vocal ensembles.
The virtuoso clarinettist Michael Dumfart shows his students what sounds can be extracted from the woodwind instrument.
Johannes Bär is from Vorarlberg and a genius on brass instruments.
He shines on the trombone and is well versed in classical and folk music. Vinzenz Härtel, from Citoll, plays all instruments anyway. Especially the Styrian harmonica, as well as Philipp Egglmeier.

The course is aimed at advanced musicians who have already mastered their instrument and want to improve their skills. However, we ask you to let us know your status when you register so that we can offer the right course for everyone.
