More about the contributor

Actually, the FriesacherFrauenZimmer came into being by chance in the 2000s. The then dance director of the Styrian folk dance group Friesach, Juliane Magerl, had put together a club choir to liven up the “Bunten Nachmittage” of the folk dance group a bit. In the end, the guys left the choir and the girls remained. Of the original seven FrauenZimmern, three have remained over the years and one new one has joined. Claudia Grundner, Alexandra Kröpfl, Agnes Harrer and Judith Payer sing and yodel powerfully, what the vocal cords just so give and accompany themselves with their musical instruments such as Styrian harmonica, Styrian dulcimer, zither, bass fiddle and flutes.

The four musicians of the FriesacherFrauenZimmer enchant their audience with rustic singing and rousing passion. The joy of the thing is in the foreground, so they present the yodels and songs from their repertoire heart-refreshingly natural, stylish and charming.
